Jackery launches Red Cross Edition home battery range for emergency use

Jackery has launched the HomePower Emergency Pro Series, a co-branded line of portable battery backup units developed in partnership with the American Red Cross. The range, which the company has positioned as a consumer and professional emergency-preparedness product, comprises three models spanning 1,024 Wh to 3,584 Wh of storage and retails at between $749 and $1,899. The launch also advances Jackery's "Power The Rescuers" campaign, under which 10% of Red Cross Edition profits are directed toward deploying units to emergency response organisations.

The three models are the HomePower 1000 Plus V2 ($749), HomePower 2000 Plus V2 ($1,199) and HomePower 3600 Plus ($1,899). All are built around lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells, which the company says are rated for 6,000 charge cycles to 70% usable capacity, equating to roughly 16 years of daily service. Each unit incorporates an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) switchover function that the company says activates in 10 milliseconds or fewer, maintaining power to sensitive electronics during grid transitions without detectable downtime.

Emergency-specific software features

Two software-driven features are presented as the headline additions. The first, Storm Alert, connects to the OpenWeather API to monitor incoming severe-weather forecasts and automatically charges the unit to full capacity when a significant event is detected, overriding any pre-set charge limits or schedules. The second, Emergency Reserve Mode, allows users to designate a portion of stored energy, between 20% and 100% of capacity, as locked reserve that is unavailable during normal use and can only be released via a one-tap interface. Jackery describes Storm Alert as a "first-of-its-kind" feature; that claim has not been independently verified and the competitive field for software-enhanced home battery systems is active.

The 3600 Plus, the flagship tier, offers 3,584 Wh expandable to over 21 kWh through add-on battery packs and a 3,600W continuous output. Two units linked in parallel can, the company says, deliver up to 43 kWh and 7,200W, including support for 240V loads. All three models accept solar panel and gas generator input alongside grid charging.

Market and capital context

Jackery occupies the consumer and prosumer end of the portable battery market, which sits well below the utility-scale and commercial-and-industrial storage segments that attract the majority of climate-infrastructure capital. The company competes primarily with brands including EcoFlow, Bluetti and Anker in a category that has grown rapidly as grid outages, wildfire events and extreme weather have increased demand for household resilience products in the United States.

The broader residential energy-storage segment, which includes products such as the Tesla Powerwall and Enphase IQ battery, is increasingly integrated with solar and grid-management software. Portable, non-installed units like Jackery's sit in a distinct sub-market where portability, ease of use and upfront price point drive purchasing decisions rather than grid export tariffs or battery investment tax credits. Under the US Inflation Reduction Act, the residential clean energy credit (Section 25D) applies to battery storage systems installed in homes, though it is not clear from the release whether Jackery's portable, non-installed units qualify. That distinction is commercially material for buyers considering a home energy system.

The Red Cross co-branding and profit-share mechanism is primarily a marketing and corporate-social-responsibility structure rather than a capital deployment or policy event. Jackery did not disclose aggregate campaign volumes, total units committed, or a named Red Cross programme to which proceeds will be directed. Units are available for direct sale on Jackery's website and Amazon from 29 September 2026, with the 3600 Plus shipping from early November.
