Evotrex raises $30m Series A for electric RV trailer production

Evotrex, a California-based developer of electric recreational vehicle (RV) trailers, has closed a $30 million Series A financing round, bringing total capital raised to $46 million. The round drew participation from a group of new investors including GSR United Capital, Forebright Concerto Capital, Unique Capital, Pegasus Capital, TTGG Ventures, ChunJia Capital, and Thundersoft, among others. No lead investor was named, and no post-money valuation was disclosed.

The proceeds are earmarked for final product development, automotive-grade testing and validation, and production preparation for the Evotrex-PG5 — a towable electric RV trailer that the company positions as a mobile energy platform, combining onboard power generation, battery storage, and an integrated energy management system. The company says roughly 90% of its existing order book is for the fully-loaded Premium trim, priced at $159,990, which it plans to prioritise for initial deliveries.

The product and timeline

Evotrex says it will launch a comprehensive validation programme in the fourth quarter of 2026, covering towing and range performance, energy management, lateral stability, braking, structural durability, and regulatory compliance. Commercial deliveries to customers are planned for 2027, though the company has not yet reached production-ready status or published independently verified range, payload, or power-generation figures.

Alex Xiao, chief executive and founder, said the round "validates our vision for a new category of intelligent, power-generating RVs designed around flexibility, energy independence, and modern living." The company said feedback from a preorder-holder survey shows strong interest from traditional petrol or diesel pickup-truck owners — a signal, it argues, that demand extends beyond existing electric-vehicle (EV) adopters.

Market context

The electric RV and mobile-energy-platform space sits at the intersection of consumer electrification and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) concepts, where the onboard battery can serve as a backup or off-grid power source rather than simply a drivetrain component. The category is early-stage: while established RV manufacturers have introduced hybrid and electric models, the purpose-built electric RV trailer segment remains pre-commercial, and Evotrex has not yet delivered production units.

Consumer-facing EV products in this price bracket face the same headwinds as broader electric mobility: high upfront cost relative to fossil-fuel equivalents, residual-value uncertainty, and charging or generator infrastructure questions for off-grid use cases. The $159,990 price point for the Premium trim positions the PG5 firmly in the premium-adventure segment rather than the mass market.

From a cleantech-investment perspective, the round is relatively modest for a hardware developer approaching production readiness — capital-intensive manufacturing typically demands significantly larger raises before first delivery. The syndicate of investors is largely unfamiliar to mainstream climate-tech allocators, which may reflect the product's positioning as a consumer-adventure brand as much as a clean-energy platform.

Policy landscape

Unlike utility-scale battery storage or fleet electrification, consumer electric RV trailers attract limited direct policy support. US federal EV tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act target passenger vehicles and commercial fleets rather than recreational trailers; the PG5 is unlikely to qualify buyers for the $7,500 clean-vehicle credit. Broader state-level incentives in California, where Evotrex is based, tend to focus on commuter vehicles rather than leisure products.

Investors and preorder holders will look to the Q4 2026 validation launch and a confirmed production-start date as the next substantive milestones.
